About Me

I am a graduate from University of Louisiana at Monroe, where I received my Bachelor's degree in General Studies, class of 2013. Immediately out of college, I began working at CenturyLink Telecommunications (now Lumen Technologies), and I've been there ever since.

Although I love my current job, I have always aspired for more. I've recently switched paths towards a new career in Web Development, thanks to SheCodes, and I've loved every minute of the Journey!

What first began as a hobby to do in my spare time, coding has now become a clear career path for me! Web development is now one of my newest passions. And who knows, maybe one day, I could work for Instagram, Google, or even You.

Nevertheless, my first passion will always be the love of travel! I currently live in Northeastern Louisiana, near Interstate-20 and so it makes it that much easier to pack up and hit the highway! So far, I have visited Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas. I would love to travel to all 50 states if possible!

My ultimate goal is to travel abroad! I grew up thinking that Paris would be my first destination (how cliche!), but after taking Roman History in college, my plans quickly changed! I have dreams of one day seeing the Vatican, Colosseum, Pantheon, Sistine Chapel, etc. the list could go on! Being able to see the beauty and architecture of one of the greatest civilizations before it's all gone is the epitome of travel for me!

Amelia Earhart

Not only do we share the same birthday, July 24th, but we both love(d) the thrill of adventure! And she was also a powerful advocate for women! She defied conventional feminine behavior of the 1900's, and believed that women could do everything that men could do! Her sense of adventure and immense courage have cemented her name into our history books. She has forever paved the way for intrepid women everywhere!

"Everyone has oceans to fly, if they have the heart to do it. Is it reckless? Maybe. But what do dreams know of boundaries?" - Amelia Earhart

"Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be but a challenge to others." - Amelia Earhart, in her last letter to her husband
